DISPATCHER WANTED

Job Description

Job Title:        Dispatcher                                      Department:                 Operations
Location:       San Diego, CA                               Employee Reports to:    Terminal Manager

Job Summary:  Responsible for local Intermodal and International dispatch, order entry, process accessorial, equipment inventory, data entry, customer relations.

Duties/Responsibilities:  Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other job duties may be assigned):

  • Match drivers to customer requirements.
  • Work with operations in planning local delivers and pickups of cargo off various rail ramps and steamship line piers.
  • Plan and Monitor Cross Border pickups and deliveries
  • Control driver pay and accessorial costs.
  • Provide proper, complete, and accurate data entry in real time.
  • Cooperate with Safety Department in driver compliance.
  • Resolve driver issues.

 

Qualifications:  Experience in transportation and trucking industry, B-Lingual,  Excellent communication and computer skills, flexible, and able to work in fast-paced environment.  Knowledge of TrueVision a plus.

Work Environment:       Incumbent may be required to work long hours to manage special customer requirements.  Be willing to take calls after normal business hours on a rotation basis with other dispatchers and Service Center Managers
